About

Hi, my name is Chris. This is my SEO story…

After hearing many people making a good chunk of change with blogging, I looked into how to make money online. That’s when I found SBI.

I joined SBI (Solo Build It) back in early 2000. My memory is fuzzy, but I’m sure it was early 2000.

I paid the monthly fee of US$19.99 (a lot back then) to learn about SEO, keyword research, and blogging. Back then, it was niche-oriented. Google hasn’t caught on yet. And, it was easier to rank sites compared to today.

In addition, I was also doing some naughty search things called “blackhat SEO.”

I had sites ranking well in Google and making a good chunk of change.

Then the algorithm updates happened! Namely, Panda.

Slowly but surely, all of my websites disappeared from the internet without a single trace.

That’s when I realized for longevity, don’t mess with Google or practice bad SEO.

It’s true – Google’s algorithm updates can be ruthless, and if your website isn’t up to snuff, you could be in trouble.

But the good news is, by following Google’s guidelines and best practices, you can not only avoid penalties and drops in rankings but also set yourself up for long-term success.

The key is to focus on providing value to your audience through high-quality content, user-friendly design, and a strong online presence.

By building a website that users love and that Google can easily crawl and index, you can increase your chances of ranking well in search results and attracting more traffic and leads to your site.

But it’s not just about following the rules – it’s also about staying up to date with the latest trends and strategies in SEO. Google’s algorithm is constantly evolving, and what worked yesterday may not work today.

That’s why it’s important to invest in ongoing SEO efforts, such as regular content updates, regular site audits, link building, and technical optimizations, to stay ahead of the curve and keep your website competitive.

So, if you want to build a successful online presence that can withstand the test of time, remember: don’t mess with Google.

Instead, work with Google by following its guidelines and best practices and by investing in ongoing SEO efforts to stay ahead of the game.

That’s my, more than a decade’s worth of SEO experience and what I’ve learned.

SEO takes time, and any good SEO specialist understands it is a patience game. Don’t fall for the “Reach number 1 spot in 1 week!” Go with someone who is honest, passionate about SEO, and follows Google guidelines. You don’t want to be on Google’s bad side.
