About

Hi, my name is Chris.

A little something about me is that I’m a hobbyist. I have many activities I love including photography. Yup, that’s me behind the camera. If you are anything like me, you prefer to be behind the lens and not in front.

These hobbies are fun and they become a passion. But, they can be very expensive. To keep my hobbies, pay the bills, and live life decently, I worked at a job I hated.

After hearing many people making a good chunk of change with blogging, I looked into how to make money online. That’s when I found SBI.

I joined SBI (Solo Build It) back in early 2000. My memory is fuzzy, but I’m sure it was early 2000.

I paid the monthly fee of $19.99 US to learn about SEO, keyword research, and blogging. Back then, it was niche-oriented. Google hasn’t caught on yet. And, it was easier to rank sites compared to today.

But, why did I fail if it was that much easier back in the day?

I have only myself to blame. My doubts, insecurities, and lack of motivation prevented me from taking advantage of Google’s uncomplicated algorithm.

If I knew what I know now back then and with my current mindset, I would have quit my job sooner.

I don’t want to bore you more with my many failed ventures so let’s fast forward to 2014, I’m still at my dead-end job.

Youtube was well established by this time, and many influencers have built their brand and following. This is when I was inspired by Will Dasovich and Casey Neistat. So, I tried vlogging.

I sold my camera and bought a DSLR suited for video work. That was a big mistake. I wasn’t good in front of the camera. My words don’t flow properly, I say um a lot. I just don’t have a good presence on screen. Needless to say, I failed and quit after two long years.

I’ve tried other many things to make money online but failed them all. From drop shipping, eBay, Amazon, investing, cryptocurrency, influencer, freelancing, digital marketing agency, blogging (again), you name it, I’ve tried them all.

I stopped for a while and gave up on making money online.

A year later, in 2018, the first time I ever saw my newborn baby’s face was the best thing that has ever happened to me. My eyes swelled up and tears began falling down my cheeks. Someone must’ve been cutting onions in the labor room.

This baby, this little human being, with just one look, she reinvigorated my will to succeed in life. Both financially and in health.

I read up on books, watched many successful influencers, to see what made them, what it took to be where they are today. And, I’ve learned, I corrected, I took action. Now I know why I failed my past businesses online…

The following is what I wish I realized sooner:

Focus on your strength, not fix your weaknesses.

Patience.

And there are also many factors that I should have developed sooner to reach success quicker, but focusing on your strength and patience are biggies.

You don’t have to do what you hate. Naturally, I tend to be on the introvert spectrum. I’m not the life of the party, I’m boring when I talk, and I prefer writing. You will sleep when you listen to me tell a story.

I tried selling and I dreaded every moment of running the business because I didn’t want to talk to CEOs, CMOs, founders, and others. I did that for 6 months and quit.

I did find success after many, many, many failures. And, I want to share what helped me finally quit my day job.

I’m not wealthy, far from it.

But, my income online lets me spend more time with my boss princess.

I want to take advantage of this time before my daughter grows up and thinks hanging out with the oldies is a drag and not cool.
